The First State Academy of Dance (FSAD) located in Sussex county, DE, offers dance in a variety of forms for the beginner to pre-professional level or just for anyone who wishes to dance. Our state of the art facilities are equipped with proper flooring and a viewing area and/or cameras so that you may view the students' classes from the lobby. The studio offers ballet, pointe,  jazz, hip hop, lyrical, modern, partnering, male technique, ballroom dance, Zumba, stage combat and tap ending the year with a dance concert. Summer offers a 3 week course for beginners (ages 4 & older) and an intensive course with guest teachers for the pre-professional hopefuls. 

FSAD is the home of its own dance company, Delaware Dance Alliance (DDA)!   DDA successfully had its first production of the "Twilight Ballet" performed at the Schwartz Center, May 2011. Photos of rehearsals and a link to photos from the production are available on our facebook, Delaware Dance Alliance. FSAD offers professional classes with guest teachers throughout the year which have included: Deb Leamy - Broadway, NYC, Julie Voshell-Broadway's "Movin Out" & "Swing", Kimberly Dyer- North Carolina Dance Theatre, Andrei Govorov - Russian Ballet Theatre, Eric Ragan - from The Suzanne Farrell Ballet at the Kennedy Center, Cheri Noble and many others.  Family and tuition discounts available and scholarships are offered to male students enrolled in ballet after their first two years of training with FSAD!
